During the morning hours of February 3rd, Pineville Fire Department was dispatched to an overturned tractor-trailer in the 12700 blk of Lancaster Hwy. Pineville Engine 3 quickly arrived onscene to find the tractor-trailer on its side and leaking, of all things, sewage. The truck was headed for the waste treatment plant with 8,000 gallons of partially treated sewage. Pineville began to try and control the run off in to the drainage systems and assist in cleaning up with the EPA. During the time of the incident, Pineville Fire Department also responded to 6 other incidents. The incident was controlled after 4 1/2 hours. 10 personnel responded and assisted along with Medic, Pineville PD, Dellinger wreckers, and the EPA.
Seen here are the tracks left by the truck as it left the roadway.
