HISTORY

The Town of Pineville sits on the southern side of Mecklenburg County. It used to be a small country town, but now has become a booming residential and commercial area. The current population of approximately 7,300 people, and can fluctuate to more then a couple hundred thousand during the Holiday seasons and during special events in the area such as the Coca-Cola 600 at Lowe's Motor Speedway.

Pineville Fire Department became incorporated in 1955.

The Pineville Fire Department is a combination department that currently runs 8 trucks with approximately 55 members that covers approximately 6.5 square miles. Pineville Fire Department provides both Fire and EMS/First Responder to the residents of Pineville and surrounding areas.

The Town of Pineville consist of a wide variety of Residential, Commercial, and Industrial properties. For example, Interstate 485, a major interstate runs through the town. Carolina Place Mall is one of the areas busiest and biggest malls. A regional hospital, CMC-Pineville, 8 multi-story hotels, 7 apartment complexes, 6 nursing homes, and much more.

The Pineville Fire Department has gone from running 72 calls in 1972 to right around 2000 calls in 2010.
