| Entrapment on McMullen Creek Pkwy: December 23 - On December 23 at 16:50 hrs. Pineville Fire and EMS along with Medic 36 were alerted to a traffic accident on Pineville-Matthews Rd. near the intersection of McMullen Creek Parkway. Mecklenburg County Fire Dispatched (Central) received additional information of possibly 2 patients with an entrapment. Medic 36 arrived on scene and advised that there was only 1 patient and confirmed that the patient was entrapped. Squad 8 arrived soon after and quickly stabilized the vehicle and began extrication operations. Engine 2 arrived on scene and pulled the pin-in line off the truck and assisted with extrication. Engine 3 responded to CMC-Pineville Hospital to set up a landing zone for Med-Center Air. The patient was quickly extricated from the vehicle by removing the driver's door and manipulating his leg out from under the dash board. The patient was then removed from the vehicle and spinaled. The patient was then loaded for transport to the landing zone. Medic 36 transported the patient to CMC-Pineville where Med-Center Air's helicopter was waiting for the patient. Pineville Fire Department cleared the call at 17:24 hrs.
