House Fire on Honeytree Ln.

Carolina and Pineville Fire Departments were alerted to a possible vehicle fire inside a garage.  As units were responding, Dispatchers updated the departments with a confirmed working fire from numerous calls and possible extension to a second house.  Pineville Engine 2 turned off Main St. on to Lancaster Hwy to find large column of black smoke in the area of the house and relayed this information to all units.  Chief Griffin arrived onscene to find a 2500 sq. ft. house with heavy fire showing and extending to a second house.  Pineville Engine 2 caught the hydrant and proceed to the scene.  Engine 2's crew advanced 2 lines, 1 - 1 3/4" line to the extinguish the exterior of the exposure house, and a 2 1/2" line was advanced inside and to the garage to stop the advancing fire.
Crews redirected the 1 3/4" line to the second floor to stop the advancing fire into the attic.  Pineville Ladder 1 arrived and crews began extending lines into the attic of the second house.  With all hands working to extinguish the fire, additional units were called in from Charlotte Fire Department and Providence Volunteer Fire Department.  Due to heavy fire damage, Crews established a collapse zone around the garage.  Once the fire was placed under control crews began to salvage and overhaul both houses.
