PVFD Mourns Loss of Life Member John "Tommy" Poteat Jr.

The Pineville Volunteer Fire Department is greatly saddened to announce the passing of distinguished Life Member, John Thomas Poteat, Jr. 

Mr. Poteat respectfully known as “Tommy” passed Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at the age of 68.  One of Tommy's greatest joys in life was his participation and long time service at the Pineville Volunteer Fire Department.

On Sunday, May 27th the newly revamped PVFD Honor Guard
made its public debut at the Town of Pineville’s Memorial Day festivities.

Commanded by FF/EMT Andrew Boris, Honor Guard members FF Miguel Espinal, FF/EMT Gene Kinney, FF Tim Michelle and FF Leyser Urbina carried out the Presentation of the Colors at start of the events at the Pineville Hut, the procession to the Pineville Cemetery and for the service at the Cemetery. Honor Guard members FF/EMT Omar Kasso and FF Walton Knowles were on hand to render honors to our veterans. 

The PVFD Honor Guard received a great deal of praise from both the Town of Pineville Administration and the Veterans who were on hand.  Great job gentlemen!
